Elio Peronne Bigaro Moscato Rose  '15, Italy
'Bigaro' in Piemontese defines a color that is actually a mix of colors.  This is because the Bigaro is produced with two different grapes, one white (Muscat) and a black (Brachetto).  Stefano Perrone has made his sensational Bigaro Vuvee since 2001.  A translucent ruby in color, it is a blend of Moscato and Brachetto.  The Brachetto non only gives the wine its beautiful color, but it shifts the flavors from tropical fruits in the direction of red fruits.  The wine is vinified in exactly the same way as Perrone's Moscato and is comparable in its residual sugar level, low alcohol, and creamy bubbles.   50/bottle
